House hunters are back in the property market after the biggest fall in house prices since records began, the Mail Online reveals today.
For the first time in two years, the number of buyers registering their interest in buying with local estate agents has increased.
Estate agents say that more people are coming into their office to talk about buying, rather then walking straight past. Read more at the Mail Online.
Thought I’d try something new this week as I’m sure lots of our readers are a) well aware that house prices are crashing and b) may be genuinely interested in looking at nice homes instead of hearing of the state of the economy.
So for those of you who are, I decided we could do a feature of ‘what can I buy with…’
This week – What can I buy with £400,000?
This:
A 2 bedroom flat in central London (with an en suite shower) is selling for £400,000 boasting a reception room, kitchen, en suite shower with an external bathroom, a private garage with a free parking space and a 24 hour caretaker.
Alternatively, A Condo is available for the same price in New York City - also 2 bedrooms, replacing the ensuite with a with a walk in closet (big enough to convert into an office or nursery), a 24 hour concierge, a grocery store in the building and a courtyard garden - irrelevant when you realise it’s around the corner from Central Park. Pretty similar prices and similar set ups.
